How Spelling Bee Scoring Works
The NYT Spelling Bee challenges you to build words from 7 letters, always including the center letter. Four-letter words score 1 point. Five-letter and longer words score 1 point per letter. Pangrams — words using all 7 letters at least once — earn a 7-point bonus on top. Genius requires 70% of the day's total possible points. Queen Bee means you found every valid word.
SpellingBeeFinder finds every valid word in under a second, shows your maximum possible score, calculates the exact Genius threshold, and labels every pangram so you spot it immediately. See exactly how the Spelling Bee solver works, step by step.
