A Spelling Bee solver finds every valid word from your 7 letters in under a second — pangrams starred, point values shown, Genius threshold calculated. Here’s exactly how it works and why the free version beats everything else.
A Spelling Bee solver is a tool that takes the 7 letters from your daily NYT Spelling Bee puzzle and returns every valid word you can make from them — instantly. You don’t have to think of the words yourself. You enter the letters, click solve, and see the complete list in under a second.
This is different from the NYT’s own hints system. NYT hints tell you how many words exist without revealing them. A solver shows you the actual words. It’s a different tool for a different purpose — and the best ones are completely free, with no subscription required.
Our solver at SpellingBeeFinder.com does more than list words. It labels every pangram with a star, shows the point value on every word chip, calculates your exact Genius threshold, and lets you tap any word to see its definition. You can also switch to Hints Mode if you want help without the full spoiler.
Enter your 7 letters into the honeycomb and find every valid word in under a second. Pangrams starred, point values shown. Free, no login.
The mechanics are straightforward. Our solver maintains a dictionary of valid NYT Spelling Bee words — the same vocabulary the puzzle uses, excluding proper nouns, hyphenated words, and obscure terms that the NYT editors reject. When you enter your 7 letters, the solver runs every word in the dictionary through three filters:
Words that pass all three filters appear in your results. Pangrams — words that use all 7 letters at least once — get an amber star and appear at the top regardless of length. Point values are calculated automatically: 1 point for 4-letter words, 1 point per letter for longer words, plus 7 bonus points for every pangram.
The entire process runs in the browser with no server call. There is no waiting, no spinner, no loading bar. You click Find All Words and results appear instantly because the word dictionary and scoring logic are already loaded on the page.
Tap the amber center hexagon and type the required letter from today’s puzzle. This is the letter every valid word must contain. On mobile, tap the hexagon — it highlights with an amber glow when active.
Tap each surrounding hexagon and type its letter. Order doesn’t matter — just fill all 6. The status bar turns green and says “All Letters Set” when you’re ready. On desktop you can also type directly after clicking a cell.
The amber button activates once all 7 letters are entered. Click it and your complete word list appears instantly on the right side. The pangram banner fires at the top. Every word chip shows its point value. Filter by letter count using the pills above the list.
Click the Points toggle to re-sort by highest value first — great for finding the most impactful words to enter. Tap any word chip to see its definition in the panel below. This is how you actually learn words, not just find them.

sbsolver.com is the #1 ranked Spelling Bee solver with DR 29. It ranks on content authority alone — not because it’s a better tool. No honeycomb input, no point values, no sort-by-points, no definitions, no practice mode. We beat it on every feature that matters to the user.
Not everyone wants the full word list. Some players want just enough of a nudge to find a word themselves. That’s what Hints Mode is for. Switch to the Hints tab in the solver and you’ll see a breakdown of how many words start with each letter — but not the words themselves.
For example: “3 words start with C, 2 words start with M, 1 word starts with A.” That’s enough to know you haven’t found all your C words yet. You can also click Reveal next to any letter to see just those words when you’re completely stuck.
This is the same information the NYT’s official Spelling Bee Buddy provides — but ours is free, requires no subscription, and works in the same tab as your solver rather than requiring a trip to nytimes.com and a login.
The right time to use each feature depends on where you are in your puzzle:
Practice Mode is a feature no other Spelling Bee tool offers. Switch to the Practice tab, enter any 7 letters you choose — not just today’s puzzle — and the solver finds every valid word from that combination.
This is powerful for vocabulary building. You can test letter combinations you know are common in the Spelling Bee, explore what words are possible from suffix-heavy sets, or revisit yesterday’s puzzle without the results page. Players who use Practice Mode regularly start recognizing word families faster and need the solver less over time.
SpellingBeeFinder.com is a Progressive Web App. That means you can install it on your phone’s home screen and it loads like a native app — one tap, no browser chrome, works even with a slow connection because it caches locally.
iPhone (Safari): Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen, then tap Add to Home Screen. The solver icon appears on your home screen instantly.
Android (Chrome): Tap the three-dot menu in the top right, then tap Add to Home Screen or Install App. It installs as a standalone app.
Once installed, the solver loads in under half a second regardless of connection speed. Your 7 letters from the previous session are still in the honeycomb because the app caches your state locally.
Free solver — honeycomb input, point values, pangrams starred, hints mode. Works on any device. No account needed.
